Should we choose cold splicing or hot fusion for optical fiber fast connectors?
In fact ,optical fiber hot fusion splicing is better than cold splicing.
The advantages of optical fiber thermal splicing are as follows:
High connection reliability ---During the splicing process, the melting and fusion of optical fibers significantly improves the strength of the connection part and reduces the risk of optical fiber breakage.

Low loss---Compared with other connection methods, fiber fusion splicing has smaller losses and is beneficial to improving transmission quality.

The disadvantages of fiber optic cold splicing are as follows:
Connection strength and transmission efficiency are lower. There is a certain gap in the firmness and transmission efficiency of cold splicing compared with fiber fusion splicing.
The loss is relatively large. Mechanical damage during the cold splicing process will lead to increased losses during optical fiber transmission.
Since the hot melt standard is based on the requirements for trunk line construction, the life of the general welding point will be similar to that of ordinary optical cables, and there is no problem with the life of a single point. Therefore, the use of hot melt technology can reduce later maintenance costs.
